Mosaic plant

Aren't they just so pretty and cute!!?? I adore them so much! I never knew that the mosaic plant actually have flowers! LOL! I don't think my Mom knew it either until we saw them blooming this morning. What a lovely sight to see. The plant has diamond shape leaves and they grow pretty well under the hot sun. When my Mom bought it a while back, it was only just a few of them.....and look at them now! They sure fill up the pot pretty fast. Soon we would have to move some of them into another pot so that it won't get too crowded.

I took a lot of photos of this plant hehehe.....can't help it. :D They look so nice....right now I sure wish I had a digital DSLR camera.....as I know I can take better shots of the plant using that camera compared to my Sony Cybershot. Not sure if the flowers are seasonal though, I need to look it up in the net....but I sure hope it blooms all year round. :)

Ginger flowers

Lovely! Believe it or not.....this is the first time I've seen a ginger flower.....and they are quite beautiful don't you think so?? I took this photo a few days ago but was not able to blog about it at that time......so I saved it for today.

I think.....in my Mom's garden....they are probably hundreds types of trees/plants...it's so interesting....especially when there are new trees I've never seen before. My Mom likes to collect them.....either she buys them from the nursery...or she would get them for free from her friend's garden.....hehehe....most of the time they love to exchange trees/plants with each other. Yes...retirees love to garden.....and gardening for them is something that is like surfing the internet for us young people....LOL! Which basically means that they just can't live without their garden! LOL!  Believe you me! They are inseparable! hehehhe!

Like my Mom for instance.....she is so in love with her garden.....so much so that sometimes it effects her movement.......she is not willing to travel anywhere for more than 1 day....because she is so afraid that her trees/plants might die due to lack of water.....:P. I can understand that.......unless, it's a rainy season.....so her plants will be safe :). It's so difficult for me to convince my Mom to travel anywhere because of this.......oh well......what to do....hehehehe . It's her pride and joy ........and I am happy she is passionate about it.....it makes her happy and contented....and that's all that matters. :)

Yellow lotus flower....

After waiting patiently for a few weeks......finally we get to see the yellow lotus flower bloom today!!! Yay!! The yellow color of this lotus flower is so sweet! I'm loving it! This flower pond is my Mom's most favorite now place in her garden now.....mine too in fact! Everyday we would pay a visit and have a look at these flowers.....somehow it has a therapeutic effect on us.

We would love to keep some small fish in the flower pond but unfortunately after several trials of adding the fish in it, it seems that they will die after a few days.......those fish can't seem to tolerate the pond...I wonder why.....it's so sad.....I don't want to see anymore fish die in it. So for the time being, we will just have the lotus flowers and nothing else in this flower pond.

This lotus flower plant was given to my Mom by her friend......it was so small when she first got it.....and now it's so big and there are currently a few of them in the pond. God willing with good weather and good maintenance the lotus flower plants will grow nicely and bloom more each day. What a joy it is to view them here at home :).

Purple lotus flower....

Aren't they just beautiful??!!! I wonder if any of you remember that I used to blog about this purple lotus flower before. But at that time the plant was only a small one and it was in a smaller water pot.  Now....tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! It's been transferred into a much larger container that can fit in so many pots in it. My Mom, who is the genius in gardening was the one who did this with the help of Rose, our weekly Indonesian maid hehehe......I would have helped if I had some free time....hehehe....I love gardening too.... :) It's such a satisfying hobby....especially when the trees that you planted grow big and nice and looks so healthy. Just looking at them can give you such simple pleasures.

My Mom would love to have a pond at our house but it's way to expensive to make one and it's super high maintenance was the reason why we don't have one at our home. I mean, we both love watching  a lot of  fish swim in the water......but we prefer them to be in a bigger space. So far, we've been keeping them in the aquarium and also in smaller water pots. I really got a shock when one day she bought this large water container so that she can plant the lotus flower in it and have some fish included in it too.

But you know what???? My Mom did put in quite a lot of small fish in it so that we can prevent mosquitoes breeding in it, unfortunately every time my Mom does so, we would find out the next day that all of the fish are gone! Where did they go??? Well, apparently, something came by and ate them all up!!! Darn it!! Until now, it still remains a mystery.......we still have not caught the culprit! I wonder if it was a cat or a small fox. I guess we will never know unless we have a video camera fixed at the place or stay up all night peeping by the window waiting for the culprit to appear hahahaha...... :D

So now.....my Mom put teeny weeny guppies in it......which is something that the culprit will find so hard to catch! hehehe! We tested for a few days to see if the guppies are still there......and sure enough, they are still alive and swimming happily in it. Looks like the plan worked! Well, for me.....I don't mind whatever fish she puts in it, as long as I can see fish swimming in it.....that's enough to make me feel giddy inside! ;)
