Saturday getaway Part 3 - Antique clocks

After spending almost the whole morning and noon having a wonderful conversation amongst ourselves and of course not forgetting eating nasi lemak, durians..buah setoi....and buah dukong.. at Uncle Perumal and Auntie Somchit's house, we decided that it was time for us to make a move back home. But as usual whenever we visit this place, it's always difficult to say goodbye. Like I said earlier......I just didn't want to go home....coz it already feels like home being there with them. It was so comfortable.....so cozy.....so relaxed. :)

Many times before, Uncle Perumal has mentioned to me about his antique clocks that he has collected over the years. He hangs them on the walls in his house and along the staircase too. My goodness....there are so many of them! I forgot to count exactly how many he has in his collection. He is thinking of selling them.....perhaps some of them because it is so difficult to maintain each one of them everyday. These clocks don't use batteries.....oh no no no.....no batteries ya......so each one has to be wind up manually to keep it functioning. Aaaahh.....the passion.....to keep all these antique clocks functioning is not an easy job. You need to have the passion to do it. I can't imagine myself having to do this every other day.......but if it is just one clock.....maybe I can tolerate it....hehehe. :P

I do have some interest in owning one of these for myself.......but......hmmmm......should I??? You see.... it's the rare forms and designs that I find most attractive in these antique clocks. I love looking at them.....but maintaining them is another issue. Maybe I should just be an admirer rather than an owner ;) .But if anyone out there is interested in these rare finds.....do leave a note here. ;).
